Lithuanian Police fleet has 11 new BMW R 1250 RT motorbikes added
The Police have purchased BMW R 1250 RT model motorbikes. “They are some of the latest BMW motorcycles — an updated touring class model. It is highly dynamic and maneuverable on the roads and comes with a powerful, but at the same time efficient engine, as well as ample standard equipment, which reinforces the rider’s safety and comfort. We believe that they will serve the Police successfully for a long time to come and help to ensure greater safety of road users on the roads,” says Martynas Daujotas, the Manager of the BMW brand in Lithuania.
According to the Head of the Lithuanian Road Police Service, Vytautas Grašys, these motorbikes can beat car traffic flows more easily. Motorcycles are used in a variety of places: outside of towns and cities and in town/city centers. The new two-wheelers handed over in Vilnius will be used for traffic control and patrolling on the national roads undertaken by the Lithuanian Road Police.
The new motorcycles were purchased by the Lithuanian Police via a public tender launched last year. The “Vilniaus autoūkis” company was successful in the tender, while the sale of motorcycles was handled by the official representative of BMW Motorrad in Lithuania — “Krasta Auto”.
