The vehicle fleet of The Slovak Police Force to be extended by 52 BMW Motorrad motorcycles
As announced by The Ministry of Interior of The Slovak Republic, the vehicle fleet of the Slovak police force will be extended by 52 motorcycles delivered by BMW Motorrad. The decision to acquire these top-level motorcycles represents the Ministry‘s proclaimed effort to renew the vehicle fleet by 2025.
The first batch consisting of 22 motorcycles of the model K 1600 GT-P was already handed over to the Bureau of State Authorities Protection and Diplomatic Security. These motorcycles were firstly used in the convoy accompanying the Pope Francis’ limousine during the papal visit in Slovakia. The remaining 30 motorcycles of the model R 1250 RT-P will be employed by the district and regional inspectorates as well as police operative forces.
The minister Roman Mikulec made it clear that the fleet extension was absolutely necessary in order to provide the police force with high-quality and safe motorcycles that meet the international standards.
